Play Outdoor Asphalt Bowling

First an foremost this is a game of good spirit - but not in that lame way like Ultimate Frisbee.

  1. Acquire a bowling ball. This may be the most difficult part. Apparently Bowling Alley's get rid of balls after a while. This is how we got ours in a roundabout way. As well, your local Goodwill, Value Village, St. Vincents or whatever your second hand store is called should have bowling balls from time to time. Otherwise a mad dash in and out of a bowling alley may prove fruitful and energizing.
  2. Acquiring pins is harder than acquiring balls. Keep in mind that bowling alleys throw away pins after a while - or so I've heard. Otherwise, second hand stores. Lastly, two liter plastic bottles and other drink containers work. Experiment with water, sand or dirt for different action. Glass is fun, but bloody for dog feet and human hands.
  3. Play. Score however you want. We play 20 points for a strike, 14 for a spare, and 1 point for each pin otherwise. Play to 100, 50, 300 - however long you want the game to be.
  4. Remember to bring beer. Don't let the cops mess with you. Everyone who sees you bowling will think you're the coolest and will only smile and wave. They may want to throw the ball. Let them. A parking lot behind a building or hidden by other means will prevent the pigs from snarfing your pabst. Otherwise liquor in slurpies will suffice if yur too much of a wussy.
  5. Oh yes, we play with a 'three-point' line of sorts. A farther ways back you can mark a line whereby a strike is worth 40 and a spare is worth 28. If you bowl from their on your first roll, you must take your second roll from the back line as well.
  6. Your ball may become chipped and dangerous. Thereafter you can call your ball 'bloody knuckles'.

We do not claim to be entirely original, but we do own google.
